CVIC Software
Services Canada Inc. (CVIC SSC) has collaborated with Access
Communications Co-operative Limited to launch Xpress PVR to
North America market. The Agreement was signed and announced in
Regina, Saskatchewan on March 3, 2005. Dr. Jing Xinhai, Chairman
and CEO of CVIC SE, Ms. Cheng Jianping, Vice President of CVIC
SE, Ms. Shu Jianghong, Executive General Manager of CVIC SE
Overseas Business Division, Mr. Bob Schad, the Board Member of
CVIC SSC, Mr. Jim Deane, President and CEO of Access
Communications, and Mr. Bill Temy, the Manager of Internet
Services of Access Communications attended the announcement.
Xpress PVR is a
new personal video recorder, which allows users to pause,
rewind, and record live TV on their home computers and includes
the added benefit of a built-in DVD burner and editing suite.
CVIC SSC, a division of CVIC Software Engineering Co. Ltd out of
Jinan, China, one of China¯s top ten software development firms
will provide Xpress PVR to Access Communications. Access
Communications, the 7th largest cable television provider in
Canada, will provide technical expertise, product testing, and
marketing information to CVIC SSC, and will be marketing the
product to other cable companies in Canada. Today Access
Communications placed its first order of the product to CVIC SSC
for distribution to their subscribers in Saskatchewan.
During the partner meeting, Dr. Jing Xinhai, Chairman and CEO of
CVIC SE, recalled his experience as a visiting scholar at
University of Regina during the period of 1982-1984. He
emphasized the great affection from this experience towards his
later career life. He was also appreciated Access Communications
for the supports and helps of Xpress PVR. He said: ° There would
be a bright future on family digital products.±
The cooperation between
CVIC SSE and Access Communication received great attention from
the Regina government. It was an important part of °the Economic
Development Forum of Regina± being held in March 3-4. SMC, a
famous supplier in North America, , is now communicating with
CVIC SSC for developing further market of Xpress PVR in North
